Australia - In April, 2012, we flew to Sydney, Australia, and then on to Ayres Rock Resort. Such a mystical place! It is easy to understand why this is a sacred place to the native people. We saw Uluru at dawn and dusk, walked around it during the morning, and then walked through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta in the afternoon. After a few days at the resort, we flew to Adelaide and caught the Ghan train to Darwin. Scroll down to see what happened next. Singapore - We flew from Darwin to Singapore to continue our journey. We stayed several days in Singapore, enjoying its unique combination of cultures. If you would like more narrative and somewhat fewer photos, click on the BLOG button above.
The E & O Express train from Singapore to Bangkok - We rode the ultra luxurious Eastern and Orient Express train through Malasia and Thailand, stopping in Panang and at the Bridge Over the River Kwai. If you would like more narrative and somewhat fewer photos, click on the BLOG button above.
Bangkok - At last, we arrived in Bangkok. Perhaps the most unique and beautiful place we've ever visited. Charming people, gorgeous temples, and the worst traffic we've ever encountered. But SO worth the trip! If you would like more narrative and somewhat fewer photos, click on the BLOG button above.
